MacGregor Partners Recognized in the August 2020 research note, Supply Chain Brief: Technologies for E-DOCs and Automation in Transportation, authored by Carly West and Bart De Muynck, at Gartner

Raleigh, NC — September 23rd, 2020 — MacGregor Partners has been recognized by Gartner in their 2020 Supply Chain Brief: Technologies for E-Docs and Automation in Transportation for their employee/driver safety and enterprise document management solution, M.Folio. According to the report, “With the recent push for social distancing and automation in transportation processes, companies are looking for technology to automate and digitize processes that formerly required human interaction. Supply chain technology leaders should investigate technology for virtual gate check-in and e-docs.”

The research note, authored by analysts Carly West and Bart De Muynck at Gartner, identified MacGregor Partners as an example vendor for the “document management efficiency use case” and the “Employee and driver safety use case.”

The note shared the following examples for the employee and driver safety use case. “In an effort to slow COVID-19 transmission and keep employees safe, a large international 3PL distribution network recently implemented electronic document management and driver kiosks at over 35 sites in its distribution network. This digitized both inbound and outbound documents and signature capture via either kiosks or mobile applications. This implementation achieved contactless driver/facility process and mitigated the risk of viral transmission of COVID-19 through the process. This also removed the administrative burden from the guard shack, pushing the work to the kiosk, which allowed security guards to focus on security. Ultimately, this allowed the organization to repurpose headcount and produce additional efficiencies and savings.”

In the second use case covering document management efficiency, the report mentions, “A large food and beverage manufacturer implemented electronic document management across 42 facilities in a six-month period. The project digitized workflow automation of all receiving, shipping and QA documents through the facility, requiring all signatures from internal or external parties to be through the digital platform.” Per the August 2020 research note, “A portal was created for all partners to gain immediate access to documents and status, which resulted in eliminating almost all call volume for lost, misplaced or damaged documentation.” The report continued with, “Ultimately, this resulted in 30% labor savings associated with the back office and positive ROI in the first year.”
